islands of sand

this shot was taken at "the reservoir" near wcu. it's about a 15min drive from campus on narrow winding mountain roads. it's almost a hidden beauty deep in the mountains. i would have never expected to find this big lake up on the top of a mountain.

this is the basic view from one of the main areas to park. i happen to love looking out at the water so much i could stand here for hours. not too far out there's these two small islands that are just piles of sand. after so many years they have started growing trees and vegetation. i want to get a little boat and paddle out to em.
